Uninstall Revue

Revue has no uninstaller. To remove it completely, take out the parts it added to other tools first, then the app, then its data. Do them in this order, because the first two need the revue command.

If you installed the Claude Code plugin, remove it first with Remove plugin in Settings › AI review, or run:

Terminal window
revue agents uninstall

Otherwise every new Claude Code session says once that Revue is missing. See Claude Code plugin for what this removes.

If you installed Revue’s git hooks in a checkout, remove them there:

Terminal window
cd path/to/checkout
revue hooks uninstall

It removes only hooks Revue wrote, and leaves your own alone. revue hooks status shows whether a checkout has any. See Command line.

  1. Quit Revue.

  2. Drag Revue from Applications to the Bin.

  3. If you installed the command line tool, delete it. It’s owned by an administrator, so use sudo:

    Terminal window
    sudo rm /usr/local/bin/revue

Deleting the app leaves your data, so a reinstall finds your reviews again. To remove it too, delete these folders. Files and folders lists what each holds.

Terminal window
rm -rf ~/.revue
rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Revue\ Native
rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/Revue
rm -rf ~/Library/Logs/Revue

Revue may also have made these, only if you asked:

  • Worktrees for stack layers, in a folder beside each checkout named after it with .worktrees on the end. Remove them with git worktree remove so git forgets them too.
  • Agent source tokens in your Keychain, under revue.agent-review. followed by the source’s ID. Removing each source in Settings › Agent sources before you uninstall deletes them. Otherwise delete them in Keychain Access.
