Files and folders

Revue keeps everything in four folders in your home folder, plus a few Keychain items. This page lists what’s in each one, for when you want to back something up, free space or remove Revue completely. Settings › Storage shows how much each part uses, and Manage disk space explains what you can clear.

Environment variables can move these folders, which development builds do.

Revue’s data folder, which the app and the revue command share.

Path What it holds
db.sqlite3 The database: snapshots, local comments, settings and review results.
db.sqlite3.cache.sqlite3 The diff cache: diffs Revue has worked out, and its last copy of pull request threads and your Inbox.
mirrors/ Partial copies of the GitHub repositories you open pull requests from.
trees.noindex/ Kept checkouts: whole checkouts of pull requests and folders, written out for Ask AI and AI review.
token A GitHub token, only if Revue signed you in itself rather than through the GitHub CLI.
integrations/claude-code The Claude Code plugin, once you install it. It points to the newest copy in integrations/claude-code.versions/.
desktop/desktop.log Revue’s log. Once it passes 5 MB, Revue moves it aside as desktop.log.1 when it next opens.
telemetry/ The install ID, the key that makes codes for your repositories, your reporting choices and reports waiting to be sent.

~/Library/Application Support/Revue Native/ holds your windows and tabs, recent folders, layout and Inbox read history. It also holds comment drafts, viewed marks and images waiting to be attached, the list of agent sources (without their tokens), what onboarding has shown you, and the tour’s sample repository while a tab has it open.

~/Library/Caches/Revue/ holds what Revue can fetch or work out again:

Path What it holds
comment-images-v1/ Pictures from comments and people’s avatars.
ci-logs/ Logs of finished CI jobs you opened, so they open again without a connection.
syntax-v1.sqlite Syntax colouring for files you’ve read. No code is kept.

Crash reports go to ~/Library/Logs/Revue/.

Each agent source’s token is a Keychain item whose server is revue.agent-review. followed by the source’s ID. Removing the source in Settings › Agent sources deletes it.

With live updates on, Revue also reads your browser’s own Keychain item (such as Chrome Safe Storage) to read its GitHub sign-in. It never changes that item.
